for daisy sanchez, red is engrained into her experiences as an artist, daughter, an latina woman. sanchez’s images have always existed in tandem with the fuzzy memories she holds of growing up in a mexican household. as she works to uncover these memories and reestablish them within the history of her own upbringing, sanchez draws on everyday objects that remind her of how it feels to be part of a culture that is often hidden away from the mainstream in america.
